Sometimes the men take all the credit for what was in truth a collaborative effort.
Perhaps that was the case with Einstein and his 1st wife.
This song was written as a response to "Go Back to Pittsburgh". It turned into something else.
Like most of the songs on this record it was recorded live with minimal overdubs @ Gordo Studios.
lyrics
Einstein’s Wife
Mileva on her hands and knees
a home needs to be clean
one by one pick up the floor
put right, shelve, trash, fix, press, and steam
Bountiful bouncing thoughts and things
pulled out beaming and plummeting
through depths Of space between us now
expanding ‘till I’m not around
Bereft beauty don’t mourn the loss
accept and learn to love the cost
of genius in the living room
tend, nurture, cook, bemuse, and broom
Put your face on / let your hair long
Put your face on / let your hair long
Children need attending
theories need a sounding board
love and light are bending
and everything is moving toward
Bountiful bouncing thoughts and things
pulled out beaming and plummeting
through depths of space between us now
expanding ‘till I’m not around
Bereft beauty don’t mourn the loss
accept and learn to love the cost
of genius in the living room
tend, nurture, cook, bemuse, and broom
Put your face on / let your hair long
Put your face on /let your hair long
Bang! Bang!
Your kicking the door
I don’t need it like this
I don’t need You no more
why is your love so strange?
day time late night masquerade
